This place is one of a kind. A Gothic-style cottage tucked into the woods of Northern Neck, Virginia - arched windows, a wraparound porch, screened-in sunroom. The kind of property where the setting does all the heavy lifting, as long as the glass is actually clean enough to let it show through.
That's exactly what we were called in to handle. Interior and exterior window cleaning throughout the home, plus screen cleaning on the sunroom. Vacation homes like this one get used hard and sit empty in between - and that combination means buildup on the glass that dulls the whole experience inside.
The screened sunroom gets it the worst. Dust, pollen, and grime work their way into the screens and onto the glass behind them. Once we got through both, the difference in light and visibility through that space was night and day. Sitting in there with a clear view of the woods is a completely different experience when the glass isn't hazy.
The arched windows on the front of the cottage are a big part of what makes this property special. Getting those right - both inside and out - takes patience. You can't rush it on detailed frames like that. We made sure every pane was streak-free before we packed up.
Vacation rentals and second homes in Northern Neck deserve the same level of attention as any primary residence. Honestly, sometimes more - because guests notice everything. Clean windows are one of those small details that quietly makes the whole stay feel better.
